 Welcome

Welcome to the RCE Rhine-Meuse website!

RCE Rhine-Meuse is a recognized member of the RCE global family, and the first RCE established in Europe in May 2005. Although RCE Rhine-Meuse is established in the Netherlands, it stretches its activities over 3 countries: The Netherlands and the border regions of Belgium and Germany.

In this website we offer the basic information on the RCE Rhine-Meuse. As the RCE's are networked organisations and project based you will find links to the RCE related activities.

 Mission

Our mission is to promote learning for sustainable development. Our target group are the learners from 10-25 years of age. The main product of the RCE is to assist regional stakeholders to organise regionale OPEDUCA environments in the triangle: private/public/education.

OPEDUCA environments are aimed at establishing an open learning and experiencing culture in a region, were the relevant partners (coming from the triangle private/public/education) collaborate in creating learning experiences in the field of ESD.

The RCE offers:

  • Flights-for-Knowledge: a concept for the development of learning materials as wel as the learning materials itself in all ESD related fields.
  • TeacherPower: a training program for teachers who want to co-develop Flights-for-Knowledge and teach them.
  • BusinessClass: a program aiming at connecting the business (private) sector to the triangle.
  • Regional Leadership Forum: a regional thinktank and a regional network to promote the mission of the RCE Rhine-Meuse.
